Dr. Zara joined the faculty of GWU
in Fall 2002. His research interests lie in medical imaging
and the applications of MEMS technology in medical devices.
His current work includes uses of optical imaging tools
in the detection of bladder cancer, and the development
of a multi-modality imaging system that combines ultrasound
and infrared imaging technologies for improved cancer
detection in mucosal tissues
