- The Institute for Biomedical Engineering announces The GW Symposium on Biomedical Engineering and Computing. The Symposium is free and open to all faculty, staff, and students from GW as well as other
local educational institutions, local industry, and federal labs and agencies.

- The Institute for Biomedical Engineering is pleased to announce a call for proposal for the GW Institute for Biomedical Engineering Interdisciplinary Research Fund. Proposals are due March 14, 2008.
- The GW Institute for Biomedical Engineering announces the winners of the Undergraduate Research Fellowship for 2008.
- The Institute for Biomedical Engineering announces a call for application from GW Undergraduates interested in Research Fellowship support in Boomedical research for Summer 2008. Proposals are due November 20.
- Dr.Jason Zara receives research grant in Biomedical Engineering from Wallace H. Coulter Foundation to study optical imaging techniques.
- Steven Beilomowitz of the Department of
Surgery, James Hahn of the Department of Computer Science,
Rajat Mittal of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace
Engineering, and Ray Walsh of the Department of Anatomy
receive a $2.9
Million grant from the National Institutes of Health to
develop computer systems to improve surgical techniques.
- There are a couple of open Postdoctoral
Fellow positions in relation to our new NIH R01 project.
The areas of foci are image guided surgery and computational
